The Twins Turn 2!!!!

It seems like just yesterday I was struggling with 2 newborn babies, and now I am struggling with 2 toddlers! Thankfully they entertain themselves for small amounts of time now. Or should I say Barney entertains them. Their new favorite thing is Barney's Night Before Christmas video. They would watch it all day if I let them.
They had a wonderful b
irthday, celebrating with family and friends, and of course were spoiled by everyone. Here are some pictures of their birthday and their new swingset that is finally finished.

Happy 60th Grandpa!

My Dad just turned 60 years old. We threw him a surprise birthday party which turned out really nice. My brother had a friend make a slide show of his life to play at the party. While I was looking for pictures of him I realized I didn't have any of him with my girls. Life with newborn twins was just too stressful and hectic, and now I am sad that I don't have any pictures of him with my girls when they were little. I am trying to make up for lost time, and have started taking more pictures. Here are a couple of the girls with my dad.

We have a hero among us

Recently the girls have become terrified to take a bath. I think it is because they are afraid of poop appearing there. (See my Fishing in the tub post) So the other night I was trying to make bathtime fun, and I told the girls to pick a toy to take in with them. They picked their toys, but still refused to get in the bath. I thought that maybe if I threw the toys in the water they would want to get in and play with them. Boy, was I wrong. Kaitlin did get in the water, but only out of sheer panic to save her toys. As soon as I started throwing toys in Kaitlin jumped in the bath in a total frenzy and started throwing the toys back out. She was crying and so panicked, I think she thought her toys might drown or something. But now we know how brave Kaitlin is when she thinks someone is in trouble. I thought it was pretty funny, but the rest of bathtime didn't go so well. I ended up fully clothed sitting on the side of the tub with naked Kaitlin on my lap shaking like a leaf. Cadence was eventually brave enough to get in, so I had one hand to bathe her with and one to hold on to frightened Kaitlin. I did finally get Kaitlin washed, but she wasn't to happy about it. Needless to say, I got drenched. It was pretty interesting. I think it's now Steve's turn to bathe the girls for a while.

Latest Pictures

I think these turned out beautiful, and what makes them funny is that Cadence didn't just happen to have her mouth closed she either had marshmallows or popcorn in her mouth. Kaitlin was just an angel, and was being her cute little goofy self as you can tell in the picture with her purse in front of her face. I hate to brag, but I'm the mom so I can-- my girls are gorgeous!

Beautiful Girls

Beautiful Babies

Here are the latest pictures of my beautiful girls in their Easter dresses. I couldn't wait to get these back from Target, our photographer did a wonderful job considering Cadence wanted nothing to did with having her picture taken. All she wanted to do was cry and eat marshmallows. We are so lucky to have any good shots of her. We really only got 1 of her alone, and about 4 of them together. So I hope you enjoy looking at them. I know I did.

Song Choices

I always wonder why people put certain songs on their blogs, and since I have such a strange variety on mine I thought I'd explain.
-"Fishin' in the Dark" is one of my all time favorites all the way back to when I was a little kid. I never get tired of it.
-"Our Song" is currently my favorite, and I just like Taylor Swift. Some of her songs are pretty funny.
-"The Itsy Bitsy Spider" is for the girls, they love it when we sing that song with them.
-"Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" is also for the girls. In nursery they get to hold stars attached to a stick way up in the sky and sing that song. Cadence always has a huge grin on her face when they play this "game". Now I know why she wants to go to church every day--because they do such fun things.
-"If I Never Knew You" is a duet I used to make Candace sing with me, and then when I got married Steve took over her part (which is a male part anyway). He won't sing it with me anymore, but he was a good sport when we were newlyweds. I also love that it is a piano version, I have a better appreciation for piano music since I am married to such a wonderful pianist.
So now you know why I have such a wierd selection of music. It will probably change eventually, but I'm happy with it for now.
