Easter Dresses

One of my favorite things about Easter is that we get to dress up in new pretty dresses. We had a lot of fun with the girls this year. They even got cute little purses and pearls to go along with the pretty dresses. Of course they weren't happy when it came time to take pictures, but I was fortunate to get a few of them actually smiling! We got to do 3 Easter egg hunts; the first one was at our house, and they weren't quite sure what it was all about. We kept telling Cadence to pick up the candy and she would say "NO!" Kaitlin was pretty good at picking up the Milky Way, but I think that is because it had a picture of a bunny on the package. They did better on their second hunt, and by the third they were pros, and got way too many eggs. We also celebrated Easter at Grandma Berg's house a week later. They got to play with bubbles which they always love, and got a lot of fun toys. It was a fun holiday for us!

Happy Easter! (I think)

While at the mall, we felt bad that nobody was having their picture taken with the Easter Bunny. After all Santa has a huge line, why not the Easter bunny? Now we know why! I doubt every child reacts this way, but ours sure didn't like him. I can't help but laugh every time I look at the picture. It might be mean, but I love the look of sheer terror on Kaitlin's face; and Cadence's reaction is very typical for her. (Get me away from this wierdo!)

Baby bear cubs

We were thrilled to get the opportunity to have the girls pictures taken with baby bear cubs. They were really cute with them. I thought they were going to be afraid because they are afraid of every other animal, but they wanted to pet them and Cadence even gave one a kiss. It was fun to do. Thanks Grandma for letting us know about it!

Our Cutie with an Attitudie!

I can't do a post about Cadence and not Kaitlin (It's a twin thing), so I thought I'd tell you about our "little cutie wutie with a big attitudie". I think this picture is perfect for her. Kaitlin is a big goof ball! She is all about having fun and doing things her own way. She is quite stubborn at times, which couldn't possibly come from her parents. Unfortunately she also got her mother's morning attitude. She doesn't like being waken up at all. It takes her several minutes to get into a good mood. Every morning she wakes up and asks me where daddy is. She is definitely a daddy's girl. The other morning I went to get her and she yelled "NO! Where's Daddy?" so I left the room, but she didn't like that either. Once I tell her daddy's at work she's okay.

Not to be outdone by Cadence's cast, she required a band-aid on her arm every time we had to put one on Cadence where her cast was rubbing the skin off. She didn't really like it when we had to pull it off though.

Kaitlin loves to yell, run, play, and laugh. Even though she has an attitude she is also a very big sweetheart, and loves to give hugs and kisses. At bedtime she refuses to hug mom though. She thinks it is a game and laughs every time I try to hug her. It's pretty funny.

The girls are getting much better about sharing with each other, and are also very concerned when one is hurt or upset. They will bring each other toys, or ask "what happen". It's pretty cute and it makes me so happy that they love each other so much.

Cadence's broken wrist

Well, thanks to Michelle, my blog got a face lift, and I know a lot more about it. If I could just find the time to post more often it would be even more interesting.

Near the end of January Cadence fell off the back of the couch and broke her wrist. She did it on a Saturday night, but we were bad parents and didn't take her in until Tuesday. It didn't swell or anything until then, but she hadn't been using it at all, and if she had to she cried, so we figured we better get it checked out. It was a clean break and she got a cute little pink cast on. She did really well with it for the most part. It did require kisses quite often though. She really knew how to use it to her advantage. Every day she would remind us that "my arm's sick", or "I have an owie" (no idea how to spell that one). So 2 days before she was supposed to get it off, she was trying to climb onto the recliner, and just started crying hysterically. Neither me or Steve saw what she did, but she wouldn't use it again, and cried even harder if we moved it for her. So back we went for more x-rays. While we were there they took her cast off, which made me and her pretty nervous. I wasn't real thrilled having a saw that close to my daughter. She really hated the x-rays this time because they had to x-ray her arm and shoulder. Steve ended up taking over because she was so upset, but they got it done, and everything was fine. She started using it again once we got home that night. So everything is back to normal once again and we are so happy to have that smelly, stinky, gross cast off!!!
